Panic attack versus anxiety » rainbowbrite

Hmm,I've had panic attacks last hours - and it does feel different fro me from anxiety. People feel different symptoms, but I would get a really restrictive feeling in my throat like I couldn't swallow (except I could); whereas the anxiety is more like a monster sitting on your chest, weighing you down and making you, well, anxious. You can definitely experience anxiety and have a panic attack on top of it. It makes for a very unhappy person who is sure she/he is freaking out.

Also, when I first was getting panic attacks I was sure there was something wrong with my throat because it would happen in my sleep. A sharp GP told me at the time to get a new career with less stress. It turns out, 12 years on, that work was only part of the problem.
