Have you considered taking meds in addition to therapy? Some people really need both to make a significant improvement. Meds sometimes can get you to the point where you can focus on therapy more and get more out of it.

It was probably good advice to try a CBT approach, but it sounds like you don't like your therapist much--not just her technique, her personally. If you don't think that she is the type of person you can work with, that may really get in the way. Maybe you need to find a better fit.
