Hi andyboy. Dr. Bob is probably going to redirect you to just plain Babble, because this seems to be about meds. But I thought I'd just give you my take. I've been on Paxil for about a year, and it definitely has helped with obsessive thoughts. I'm not OCD, but I have grappled with some pretty all consuming obsessions over weird things at times in my life. When I went on Paxil I was deep into an obsession over power lines (don't ask), which caused me to modify my route to work, stay out of the backyard, etc. And shortly after starting Paxil, both my depression and my obsessions were greatly improved. I know it doesn't work so well for everyone, but I'd recommend giving it a try anyway. Keep in mind, though, that it can be a bit tricky to stop Paxil once you start. Some people have bad reactions to going off of it (although when I went off of it gradually once, I didn't have any problems).
