I am shocked at the timing of your post. My sister and I drove passed our childhood home. The owner was on the porch. My father died when we lived there. He was really sick [not CA]. We were very young when he died.
The owner bought this house from my mom and remembered her well. [mom was a beauty with red hair so everyone remembers her]. The owner let us in the house. Two days later I was in the shower and heard mumbling in my head and also my name. Then I was at my in-laws and heard it again. Part of it was in my father's birth language. And as you said , it was not scarry.
Sorry I wrote so much ,but I canot believe the similarity. terrics
