I had trouble making decisions about houses, too. Until I saw the "right one". It was just a bit more than we wanted to pay, but it felt like home. And all the practicalities were in place too.
Now I wish it were on the other side of the city, but at the time the priority was to have a home not too close to my parents'. But darn it, my parents have the most convenient area to my son's school and to my husband's work!
And with a major decision like that looming, the smaller decisions *would* seem overwhelming.
