Yeah, they do have their off days. I don't even *remember* my session Tuesday, and I'm not sure I'll remember today's. Sometimes he seems distant. Sometimes he's great.

But he tells me, and I tend to believe him, that I often read too much into his reactions. That it's the relationship as a whole that matters.

Does your therapist usually give you this impression? If it was just today, I think you can assume that she might just have had something on her mind.

As for changing things. I expect we all have a few things we can change to help us cope better with whatever life throws our way. It doesn't mean she thinks you're at fault. It just means she wants you to feel better, and there are things she thinks you can do to feel better.
