Just had surgery and feeling Concerta withdrawal?

Posted by katdazzle on February 25, 2003, at 0:23:03

I just got home from 4 days in the hospital getting a total knee replacement. I've been taking 18mg of Concerta for about 6 months. During the 4 days in the hospital i didn't take any of my Concerta. By day 3 I started feeling panicky, restless, couldn't stop tapping my feet, ficgeting, trouble sleeping, feeling like I'm going to explode. It's relieved a little by walking, but how far can I walk with a new artificial knee! I've never felt anything like this before and I'm just guessing it is being caused by Concerta withdrawal although I'm not sure. I'm also taking Oxycontin for the pain (I was taking this before the surgery so it isn't new)
I hate to sound "dumb" but does this sound like withdrawal or am I just going crazy? And if it is withdrawal how long until I feel okay again? I took one dose of Concerta today and I did feel better until it wore off and then- well here I am frantically typing away at 1:30 in the morning, I never stay up past 9!
Thanks for any help.
