Fear of anger

Posted by judy1 on October 20, 2002, at 14:33:47

I have to attend a deposition soon that's related to a car accident I was in last year. I was taken to the hospital and suffered a spine injury, I was told the other driver was fine- but once it was determined the accident was my fault he is suing for 2 million dollars. Apparently he has soft tissue injuries and my insurance doesn't want to pay so they want to go to court and drag me along. Originally the deposition was 100 miles away, but I told my insurance attorney that I was incapable of driving there (panic) and he yelled I had to. I spoke to my personal atty. who convinced them that if I was in an accident on the way there he promised a lawsuit so they rescheduled it closer to home. The point of this rambling is I fell apart when 'my' lawyer from the ins. co. yelled at me, and I'm afraid the same thing will happen at the deposition. I just can't handle anger turned towards me. Any suggestions? I'm going to pay my personal atty. to be there, even though he won't be able to be part of it, emotionally I feel like he won't let anything happen to me. The guy who is suing left this really angry message on my phone machine- I felt like it was a snake attacking me. Am I the only one out there who reacts so strongly? thanks for letting me vent, judy
