Welcome to babble. You'll find lots of support here.

How long did you see the psycholigist who diagnosed you and how long did you see the ARNP? Perhaps they aren't trying to make money off of you but trying to get your moods on an even keel, so you'll feel and function better.

For me, when I was diagnosed as bipolar, it was a relief...there was a name for an illness I suffered from for a long time. Having said that, it takes patience and trust in your doctors to help you find the right meds or combo of meds to work for you.

I only had one mania...a prolonged one...it's been depression that has now become my biggest problem.

If you are in doubt ask your psych lots of questions as to how he/she came to that diagnosis. If you are bipolar, you'll feel a lot better getting the correct treatment.
