I think you are looking at a sensitivity to NE reuptake inhibition when it occurs in certain areas of the brain. Even so, I would not discount the TCAs. You might respond well to a drug like nortriptyline, even though it also produces NE reuptake inhibition. There is so much we don't know about these drugs, to try to predict which drugs will help or hurt is an elusive endeavor.
