Yeah, I saw the abstract at pubmed about remeron for akathisia. Years ago I had what I think was akathisia. I found that 7.5mg or less of remeron did indeed help, but any more than that made it even worse. It felt to me like the antihistamine and serotonin effects at the super low dose, void of norepinephrine effects, was ok. But I could tell just by the feel of it and by the increased volume of my tinnitus that 7.5mg was the threshold where norepinephrine started to kick in. The norepinephrine component is what made my akathisia worse.

All things considered, I personally believe the smartest option for akathisia is to remove the offending drug and do something else. Akathisia is a sign that something in there is terribly wrong.
