Vestibular problem question

Posted by Dinah on January 31, 2009, at 17:58:30

My brain has pretty much retrained itself after the virus that weakened one ear. When I get really really tired - like after a deadline, it still causes me trouble for a week or so. Other than that I'm ok except when I sit up from a lying position or roll from one side to another. It's a bit embarrassing at the doctor's office or the hair salon (sitting up from having my hair washed). But I know to grab on to something vertical for a second to help orient myself and it doesn't last long.

But lately I've had the problem very occasionally when I haven't moved at all and my head is upright. I do the same thing. Grab onto something vertical. And it lasts an even briefer period of time. But I'm finding it a bit puzzling.

Has anyone else experienced this?
