Turns out it's fluid, and that means new drugs

I saw the ortho today, and he says that the opaque white spot is fluid. There's fluid in the joint, and it's also formed a cyst in the soft tissue -- the joint couldn't contain it, so it moved into the soft tissue. The radiologist thought it might possibly be a tear, but it's in an inaccessible area, and anyway -- it's much more likely arthritic changes. There's also some noticeable bone loss.

So, now I'm taking a drug called Daypro, to try to bring down the inflammation. When I looked it up at rxlist.com, the list of possible side effects was not fun -- third in the list was death, and depression was on there, too. I have to admit, the first pill seemed to reduce the pain some.

Joy.
