Vit. D ???'s again, involving a child this time...

Posted by natrfrk on September 6, 2007, at 22:59:28

Hello. It's been a while since I've posted here.
I was posting back in March about having a vitamin D deficiency. Anyway, I wondered even back then about my daughter maybe being deficient too. I gained a lot of info from Larry Hoover. (thank you again Lar) Now, my daughter's doctor still has not thought to test her for any deficiencies. He actually told me her reason for not wanting to walk at places like the zoo, theme parks etc... was likely due to laziness or boredom. I don't buy it. Never have. My gut is telling me something is not right. She gets what she calls "clashing" in her chest, legs, and arms. I think the clashing may be spasms?? Not sure really. Doctor didn't know either. She is very sensitive to others pain and he thought perhaps her pains were of sympathy for grandma, as grandma gets angina attacks and has fibromyalgia. Anyway, my daughter will be 7 in a couple more months and still cannot ride a bike, she's not strong enough. She cries if we make her walk at the grocery store. Nothing in particular hurts, she just says it makes her tired and not feel well in general.

Anyway, I took her to the dentist the other day because a tooth was spurting out blood. She did have one visible cavity in the area. They took one xray of that region and found a hidden cavity in another tooth. And the tooth with the visible cavity, they said it was a hidden cavity that weakened the tooth and then she bit something that broke the tooth. And that will likely happen to this other tooth soon. They referred us to a pediatric dentist office and said to not wait longer than 3 months.

I say, from my own experience in the past year. My dental issues that led to my diagnosis.... I say that a hidden cavity did not weaken her tooth, but weak teeth are causing the hidden cavities. I think she does definitely have some nutitional issues here. Imbalances, deficiencies, something...

How do I get the doctor to take me seriously and get her the proper testing? I know these are baby teeth, but they are still important to us, and I say if they are weak, chances are, her bones are too... That's my take anyway...

Any advice will be greatly appreciated. Thank you!!!
