Since I moved to Charlotte last week. Had to see an internist for a doctor. Since this is an area with huge medical facilities the care and knowledge are excellent. I too have chronic lyme's disease. I had been treated by an infection control specialist. This new doctor said no a rheumatologist should treat you. So he did a lot of ANA testing and autoimmune disease testing today and will refer me to a rheumatologist. He also said my loss of taste and smell were probably related to the lyme's disease. He also didn't think I was crazy about the loss of taste and smell. He said he had other pts with the same disorder. I had Bell;s palsy after a facelift. Fondly, Phillipa
