i tore a tendon in my hip and have been on codeine, Vicodin, Panlor, and now Vioxx. you might try panlor, but it has caffeine and kept me awake. vicodin was very effective for the pain, but you aren't suppose to take it over a month. i found it slightly addicting after just a few days. i liked codeine the best. sorry i couldn't be more helpful.
