Life has existed for a long long time and we are part of it. We are just this stuff that is living now, as stuff has lived for so long. The living goes on. We do not, if by 'we' is meant personality. But life certainly goes on and always will, until the sun blows up at least here.

Meaning there is no foundation.

Since we rejected religion we need to make our own meaning, having sawed off the branch on which we were sitting.
