As I understand it, the Anitchrist is a personification of Satan.
However, the spirit of antichrist has always been present.
If you want to identify what the spirit of antichrist is, ask yourself what would Jesus want me to believe about myself? Then look at the opposite view, and after doing that, link up things, events, and people to these two opposing perceptions. Anyone who purposely tries to make another person feel low about themselves, through verbal, emotional, or physical abuse is influenced by the spirit of anti-christ. Anti means against Christ.Christ would want you to be born and would believe in you, would see your light and potential. Anti Christ would put you down. Until "the" Antichrist appears on the scene, we should be aware of the spirit of antichrist that is ever present among us. Once we can identify what the spirit of antichrist is and how it feels, and also what the spirit of Christ is and how it feels, we will be better able to recognize the Antichrist when he appears.
This Antichrist when he appears, is a human being who will have spiritual powers to perform miracles. He will be the greatest deceiver that has ever been born because he will deceive many into thinking he is the Messiah. He will want to claim governance of the world, and will just about succeed.
