Cleaning the house isn't spiritual in and of itself. When clutter and chaos impede the feelings of self worth of one who has faith already and who studies scripture, goes to church, worships god, they feel unworthy and lose desire to pray. Therefore, lifting ourself by creating more order, has an aligning effect with God. After all, (people of my faith believe) God's house is one of order too.
