Sorry, Bob, but I think you take the civility thing a bit too far, IMHO. I don't think Lou or Ray would have accused me of being uncivil. Uncivil is the very LAST thing I would call myself.

An obviously slanderous post is one thing, but a post like mine where you are anticipating the possible, as yet unspoken reaction from another poster. Anticipating his feelings and on top of that making ME responsible for them? Come on, Bob. You are a psychiatrist, and you should know that rule number one is a person's feelings are a persons feelings, and nobody is responsible for the feelings of another. Indeed, we should respect another's feelings and be sensitive to another's feelings, but we are NOT responsible for them. If you coddle all your patients that way, I would be surprised they make any progress at all. In fact, I would assume they stay the same or worsen over time.

A spade is a spade. Lou was definitely being evasive, and I called him on it. Not to hurt his feelings or make him feel attacked, but to further the discussion. Lou seems like a fascinating character who has much to offer this board, and I was curious as to why he was holding back. I have much respect for him. Whether or not he chooses to continue to respond to my posts is HIS decision. We all have free will. You should be encouraging the members here to excercise it.

Respectfully submitted.
