But one thing. I had a great lawyer in Connecticut when I got divorced after 21 years. She taught me to always make sure I have my own savings account and my own credit cards, and own car in my name. As you never know what will happen in life. I never knew my husband was cheating on me and I'd have to divorce him. I wouldn't have had the $5000 to put down to hire a lawyer if not for my savings. Women need to be prepared for everything. If your husband were to drop dead how long would probate hold everything up. This advise all from my lawyer and glad of it.
