Hi Sabrina,
Have you tried munching on pretzels when you get the salt craving? They are salty, but are low fat or fat free. Plus they have less salt than chips.
Cheese is a tough one. I love cheese, too. I feel like Wallace in Wallace and Grommit. I know that all the diets say to eat no more than a wedge the size of your thumb for one serving. Try cutting it into really small pieces and eating it with a toothpick. Like the samples they give out in grocery stores.
I crave salt when I have PMS. Potato chips and salted nuts are my downfall.
