Hey Racer, nice to see you.
Only advice I can give is to give "We Need To Talk About Kevin" a complete miss. It's pretty awful in all kinds of ways. I posted Nikki about it a while back when she tried to read it too.
I've just started "Never Let Me Go" and am not enjoying it the way I did with his others - not sure why, will post more when I finish it.
As books and CDs are my only real indulgences my advice on being good can't be trusted. I'd go for it.
