I've read most of them, although now that I think of it, I don't think I finished the last one -- I was in the middle of it when this depression hit so hard last year and I attempted suicide. Never did pick up again the book I was reading that day.

They're certainly enjoyable, and I liked that Auel did so much research. There was a lot in there that I didn't know about practical things, like preparing leather, etc. That's always something I enjoy, and I swear I learn almost as much from fiction as from nonfiction about really obscure things! All those little facts are like little gems that I can store up for the winter.

And I never got any "deeper meaning" from any of them, either, but I wasn't looking. Just good, enjoyable reads, with some bits and pieces of unrelated information to store away in my magpie's nest of a brain.
