Hi partlycloudy,
It's still raining today, so I guess you're not coming visiting. Lol.
I looked at my list of books that will be arriving on Friday. Let me know if you're interested in any of these. If not, I'll get a new delivery in 3 weeks. I could put something on hold that we both want to read together.
"From Potter's Field" is a book in the series of Dr. Kay Scarpetta. She's a fictional forensic pathologist. I enjoy the books, but I think this is #5 in the series. It's rather hard to come into the stories without knowing people and events from previous stories. So you may not want to choose that one.
"House of Sand and Fog" should be a goodie. I've got the movie on hold as well, but I read somewhere that the movie and book are pretty close to each other. That always makes the movie better!! I can't stand it when you read a book and then are disappointed by the movie.
"The Light of Day" may be the book we want to share this time. It's about women prisoners/private investigators. Fictional. It's a new book (2003) and has a lot of holds on it here, so you may have difficulty getting it.
"One Tuesday Morning" is by my favorite Christian writer, Karen Kingsbury. This is a fictional based on 9-11. A fireman and a businessman at the World Trade Centre.
"A Slender Thread: Rediscovering Hope at the Heart of Crisis". Thought I'd give it a try.
"The Suicidal Mind". Again, can't hurt to read it.
"The Surgeon". Another fictional female forensic pathologist. Not as well written as the Kay Scarpetta series, but still interesting.
"Return" is also a series book. It's by my fav Christian author again, Karen Kingsbury. But you really need to start at book #1 to follow the family through their history. So this wouldn't be a good choice.
Okay, now to see if these double double quotes worked properly. Lol!
Hugs,
Sandy
