Harry Potter--Rip Off?

Anyone notice that the theme of harry potter (Young boy goes to wizard school and becomes greatest wizard) was done before, and much much better, in the 60's by Ursula K. Leguin in her Wizard of Earthsea trilogy?

Don't get me wrong, I love harry potter, but the writing is much deeper, and more accessible to adults, in ms. LeGuin's books
