I am not usually into adventure stories, but there was one I read that I liked: "Into the Wild" by Jon Krakower. Actually, it is a sad story about a young guy with mental illness who disappears. He also wrote a book about ice climbing, but the name escapes me at the moment.

me from concentrating too well and so my reading suffers as a result. I've got a lot of books that I've started but haven't continued.

Me too. So, I like to read short stories a lot. It fits the bill in terms of length of concentration, and I also discovered that I really like short stories a lot. BTW, I also love to listen to Selected Shorts on NPR--it is a program of short stories read by actors to a live audience. I just love this. I look forward to it every week. there is something so wonderful about listening to a good story read aloud, and read well.
