I think it is fairly safe. I take low dose venlafaxine, and turmeric with little problem.

It is supposedly an MAOI (in higher doses), although I read a report recently suggesting that its antidepressant effect was due to other mechanisms (i.e. no MAO activity detected in depression effective doses).

I think you would need a fairly high dose of turmeric (10's of grams) before MAOI activity is an issue. Also note, there are many 'natural' MAOIs which don't seem to interact with antidepressants for some unbeknownst reason.

For example, smokers supposedly have 30-50% lower MAO because of tobacco, yet many smokers take SSRIs with no issue.

Coffee also contains MAOIs.

I wouldn't worry about it unless you are taking really high doses of turmeric.
