I might have already mentioned some of this to you, but pregnenolone seemed to have short-lived benefits against my fatigue when I took it before the onset of my psychotic symptoms, but when I took the supplement after the onset of my psychosis, I recall becoming more aggressive and perhaps also more psychotic. I think I took either 25 mg or 50 mg when I tried pregnenolone.
One thing that pregnenolone seems to do is act on a "sigma-1-like receptor," seemingly to produce activation at the receptor site (Schiess & Partridge, 2005). I noticed an increase in psychotic symptoms on Seroquel (which seems to produce sigma-1 activation) and a reduction in psychotic symptoms on Zoloft (which seems to reduce activity at sigma-1 receptors), so I think it's possible that pregnenolone's "sigma-1-like" activity might at least in part explain my reaction to the supplement. As far as I can tell, you don't seem to have the problem of becoming more psychotic on Seroquel, so it would make sense that your response to pregnenolone might likely be different from mine. Another thing that I think is worth mentioning is that if you do react to pregnenolone in a manner that's similar to how I reacted to the supplement, the intensity of your reaction is not likely to be as strong as mine was, since you're planning on taking 5 mg of the supplement, compared to the 25-50 mg that I took.
Good luck with pregnenolone if you do end up trying it.
