hey! taurine helps calm me down. Also supposed to help with hair growth. The dose came from a McLean study that used 4 grams w/ risperidone for psychosis.
10grams vitamin c is a result of my ocd. My #300 time release vitamin C tabs last exactly 30 days when I take 10 daily. Also, Linus Pauling was all about the C, so I kind of followed his lead. I think he was on 8grams/day as a result of his research. Since I have to take meds and I smoke, I figured...go on up to 10.
Natural form beta carotene is great for skin, and I have skin problems. Also helps the immune system.
Orthomolecular is awesome because you can customize it! I mean, try to be safe, but you have room to play. For instance: I had hair loss. Instead of Propecia, I take tocotrienols (the dose is based on a small study), taurine, green tea extract, zinc, and soy isoflavones. My hair looks awesome!
My skin looks better, my hair is thick and glossy, I can get away with taking abilify+neurontin PRN, and my stress levels are way down. I sleep better, my anxiety+agitation levels are under control...yes! All I need now is some slim-fast.
I'm not an MD or expert...I'm just so happy with Orthomolecular. I especially like the DIY nature of it, although you can work w/ a doc, too.
