Vitamin D3 seems to be losing effectiveness

Posted by Tomatheus on March 19, 2013, at 16:57:14

Hi all,

I just wanted to make a note of the fact that the response that I had been noticing to vitamin D3 for the past week and a half seems to be fading. I had recently had my vitamin D blood level tested by an orthomolecular doctor, and my level was found to be low, so I started supplementing with vitamin D3. I was doing much better as far as my energy, concentration, and hypersomnia were concerned at just 400 IU of the vitamin until today. I've already increased my dose to 800 IU, and although I still think that there's a possibility that my symptoms will improve again, I haven't noticed anything positive since increasing the dose and doubt that I'll notice lasting benefits from the vitamin at any dose. Still, I do plan to continue taking vitamin D3 since my vitamin D levels were found to be low. Maybe with some luck I'll notice something if I stay on the vitamin for longer at a higher dose, although in my experiences with supplements, that usually doesn't happen, so I'm not too optimistic about the whole thing.

Anyway, there's probably no need to respond to this message. I just thought I'd put it out there that my response to vitamin D3 seems to be fading.
