I mean, for sure, if we don't have adequate minerals, all the other stuff we do is going to fall short. Minerals is like health 101. We could be deficient for a couple reasons.
One, many farmlands have been depleted from years of mass production without rotation cropping or replacing organic materials. That means even the meats we eat could be lacking in nutrients. Then the issue of trace pesticides, herbicides, and hormones. How do we know these don't impact the quality of the nutrients in some way? We don't.
Poor absorption. I personally think that is an issue with most of us, or anyone dealing with a chronic problem. It just comes with the territory, worsened by meds, and in some cases is the root cause all along. Example....gluten intolerance, which damages the cilia in intestinal linings....and only 1 in 10 people that are intolerant are diagnosed. That means a lot of people are screwing up their intestines and can't figure out why their health seems so unmanageable.
Even if I couldn't feel any benefit from a multi mineral I would probably take them anyway, in amounts that would not become toxic over time, just to know I am indeed getting them.
