I'm thinking that Alpha Lipoic Acid is a very useful supplement probably for many mental illnesses. The problem was that I was using too high of a dosage. I was taking 100mg for over a week and I started experiencing fatigue. So I stopped taking it for a few days, and today I took 50mg. It made a difference. I felt better in general. I find that it may improve some symptoms such as better socialization and in general, an improved sense of well-being. It is not a miracle, but I think that if it is used properly, it can help people with mental illness. I don't think you need very high dosages since it is a potent antioxidant. High dosages for a prolonged period of time could lead to side effects, but if you keep the dosage low, perhaps you could take it everyday, but my guess is that you would probably not need it everday. Taking breaks from it would probably be warranted. I think it is an interesting supplement with possibilities.
