In reply to Vitamin B6/P5P combination for depression, posted by Lao Tzu on February 5, 2010, at 10:06:28
I find I feel better mentally when I take vitamin B6 twice a day, once in the morning and in the evening as well instead of just taking one huge dose of B6 in the morning. Space it out. It may work better for you that way, but be careful of the total daily dosage. Some people need less, others more. I find a total daily dosage of 150mg of B6 is all I can tolerate, 50mg in the morning and 100mg in the evening. Some people only need 50mg per day, others closer to 100mg per day. It's all a very subjective experience. Taking combinations of B6 and P5P actually might work better for people who have trouble converting pyridoxine into P5P, the active coenzyme. I find this is the case with myself.
