In reply to 5-HTP do I need to increase?, posted by catmint on December 5, 2009, at 20:48:34
Here is a very helpful tip.
Go to www.sjwinfo.org, which is a forum kind of like this one except its focus is St Johns Wort.
There are some sub-forums there however that focus on 5HTP. Go to those and check out the previous posts and archives. You'll find a ton of helpful tips on what strategies work with 5htp. I would spell most of them out here, but you'll see them all. 5htp can actually work real well with some fine-tuning of dosage and fine-tuning of possible tyrosine...despite that tyrosine didn't do anything for you by itself or previously.
As a sidenote, lithium in any form is natural and alternative. It is just a mineral salt. It is not a manufactured artificial chemical. Lithium orotate, lithium citrate, lithium whatever...they are all natural approaches and actually very similar to what magnesium supplements do. I think however you will find much greater success potential by spending a few hours studying the posts at sjwinfo.org on 5htp.
