taurine good for unipolar depression/GAD?

I was thinking about adding taurine to my cocktail to see if it had any effect on GAD/depression symptoms. I see it is used to treat manic symptoms and thought that perhaps it would depress a unipolar (low) patient like myself with GAD. Any thoughts would be great! many thanks,
