If you have problems finding a doctor (i don't know what canada drug import sans a prescription laws are like) for bipolar i'd recommend
fish oil
N acetyl cysteine
lifestyle - good diet vegetables not fast food, excercise, careful with booze, make sure you have something to keep regular sleep, melatonin or antihistamine (cyproheptadine if province is otc). keeping very regular schedule is very important.
vitamin d3 especially in winter actually year round in cananda
possibly inositol as well, can have good or bad reactions though
also some evidence for just an NSAID like ibuprofen for bipolar depression
i think lecithin had a study showing positive result.
I'd also think mindfulness meditation might help improve insight on when you are becoming less stable.
hope that helps.-d/r
