All great info as usual. I find your detailed posts very interesting. I used to always take my E, C, selenium, in the morning. Sluggish all day. The way I usually am anyway. But seem a bit less sluggish since I stopped them. Maybe the problem all along was dosing at the wrong time.
Comment on NAC and R-lipoic acid or alpha-lipoic acid. These things are powerful mobilizers of heavy metals, most especially mercury. Alpha lipoic acid is one of only 2 supplements on the planet that can cross the blood brain barrier and chelate mercury from tissues and inner cells.
For anyone with a history of amalgam fillings, heavy fish consumption, hazardous toxic jobs, or any kind of heavy metal exposure, these supplements can be very bad news. Actually this world is so much more toxic than it used to be, I often wonder if the skyrocketing psychiatric diseases and other diseases aren't linked to mercury and lead accumlation.
Anyway, lipoic acid in tiny doses taken every 3 hours (halflife) around the clock is an excellent chelation method to clean out heavy metals. If not done every 3 hours, the loosened metals get redeposited somewhere resulting in repoisoning and worse/new symptoms and worse/new diseases.
These awesome miraculous supplements, but also very risky if done wrong. Whenever someone gets more depressed on NAC, I can't help but wonder if they aren't more toxic than they ever considered. The most common side effect of mercury/lead redistribution is psychiatric (depresesion, schizophrenia, bipolar).
