I myself am interested in augmenting with magnesium in order to stabilise my mood. I'm not sure about the quantity of magnesium that one would take to treat anxiety, but I know that you should avoid magnesium oxide, which has very poor bio-availability (something like 5%). Magnesium oxide is ubiquitous and most of the cheaper supplements use it. The other compounds of magnesium are better sources to obtain elemental magnesium. Gold prize would be magnesium glycinate, which is of course far more expensive than the other compounds.
