DHEA had the opposite effect on me. It helped calm down my abnormal cortisol morning response. DHEA is reported to be a glucocorticoid antagonist.
I assume you took your DHEA in the morning as most people recommend this. For those high in cortisol it can help sleep if taken before bed.
