Is this asking for trouble? I read (in one of Atkin's books) that tyrosine (not tyramine-I gather they are not the same thing) can boost action of l-phenylalanine for stronger anti-depressent effect. Does it then follow that tyrosine can result in a stronger antidepressent effect when taken with either l-phenylalanine or dlpa and Emsam? Neither tyrosine nor any form of d or l phenylalanine is "recommended" with maois such as Emsam of course, but for what reason is tyrosine not recommended? We know that the various versions of phenylalanince risk hypertensive crsisis- is it the same for tyrosine- or is the risk something more sinister, like a seratonon syndrome? Thanks.
