Expiration Dates

I had submitted this question yesterday, but apparently I did something wrong as I don't see it on the forum, so I'll try again. I saw online that there's some magnesium taurate available (a highly respected brand) that has an expiration date of 11/06 and is therefore clearanced-priced at $4.20. Do you think I should try it or pass on it? I wouldn't think that it's "suddenly" no good, would you? But on the other hand...sigh! Any suggestions?
