I just try as much as possible to buy organic food, even if it is abit more expensive. And I also try to buy certain vegetables and fruit organic for sure as well as milk and cheese and yoghurt. Salad leaves are a definate organic buy, and apples and soft fruit and carotts. But obviously, if you're out eating in cafes etc, it isn't possible to get organic salads. But then, you have to put it into perspective - the benefits of eating the unorganic fruit/veg in terms of cancer protection etc probably outweighs the negitive effects of pesticide exposure. If you kind of see what I mean. And actually, I have read studies that actually show that the body needs a healthy brace of toxicity to keep it in check. But well, even so, I'd rather keep my pesitcide exposure to an absoulte minimum. Grrrr I think all food should be organic!! I just shiver when I eat unorganic chicken for instance - those chickens are pumped full of growth hormones, antibiotics etc etc. Unfortunately, organic chicken is really expensive here. Yeah, read "not on the label" - I had to stop halfway through, I just couldn't bear reading it.
Kind regards
Meri
