I've been doing some reading.

Inositol depletion is really only responsable for a portion of lithium's actions.

Like I mentioned above. Lithium is a 5-ht1b autoreceptor antagonist, and this action would not be reversed affected by the administration of inositol.

I think that lithium also has some effects on a growth pathway called ERK, and that the its effects on this singalling system appear early in the administration of lithium, before it reduces brain inositol content.

So overall, I'm not sure. I will try to report on how my own experimentation goes.
