> I know it's supposed to be awful for bipolars to stay up all night but when I'm awake from morning until night I have increased anxiety and worry. Why does staying up calm me and help me think more clearly? I do have more energy during the time I'm awake when I stay up so maybe that's not supposed to be good, but I like not feeling hungover for most of the day. Any thoughts? I've never been a sunny day person (I kind of hate them) and I love rain.

Maybe the lack of sleep switches you into a slightly hypomanic mode where you just feel better in general. I often feel my best between 2am and 6am... that is, most relaxed. I think it might be cuz cortisol levels are lowest then. But I guess you're not talking about that time, you're talking about effects into the next day.
