In my experience, l-theanine, gaba and niacin are all worthless. Maybe it's because I have such a high tolerance to gabaergic substances, tho. I took 2 mgs clonazepam (generic klonopin) and washed it down with a 6-pack everyday for nearly 7 months during one period in my life. One day I decided to stop cold turkey. I remember that at first it wasn't really that bad. It was like awakening from a dream. My senses were so much keener; visually, everything seemed so much more vivid and clearly defined. I had insomnia pretty bad for a while tho. I think the issues that people have with benzodiazepine withdrawal are really more psychological than anything else. I found that marijuana really helped.
As far as inositol goes, the stuff really did have a mood-elevating effect on me. I found myself laughing and joking around a great deal more than I usually do. I don't know how well it would work for benzo withdrawal however. One word of caution tho...if you do decide to take the inositol in high doses, make sure you try it on a weekend or vacation when you're less likely to be around other people...'cause lemme tell ya, while the stuff worked great for me, it gave me the worst gas I have ever had in my entire life! Had it not been for this unfortunate side effect I would still be taking it.nutjob
