I presume he gave you some of these supplements to support the adrenal glands, though I don't see anything on the net to support their use in anxiety states or if they exacerbate them. I can think of better things to try first, at least something with some research behind it.
I don't suffer from depression so I'm not at liberty to give you much advice on that. In terms of anxiety and panic then I suffer quite badly from that. There are many supplements that are cited as being helpful to relieve anxiety. I'm finding Omega Oils and Lecithin pretty good at the moment. I have tried a variety of other supplements like Theanine, Taurine, Phenibut, Passiflora and none really hit the spot in relieving anxiety for me, at least nothing as effective as a benzo drug like Valium.
I believe anxiety and depression (certainly in depression) have a biological cause, but also how you think also affects them and can make them worse. They feed each other, learning to relax everyday is important.
I use EFT http://www.emofree.com/ which is free to learn, extremely simple and works for me.(just involves tapping on a few points on the body) I believe it uses some classical acupuncture points.
Also the field of NLP has some powerful techniques for helping you to change your thoughts and rid yourself of anxiety, this takes longer to learn, but I feel it's worth doing. Paul McKenna's Success for Life is a good CD set that I'm about 1/3 of the way through.
I hope this post has been of some use.
