I wouldn't want to speculate on the size of a possible interaction. What is important is that you are aware that there might be one. Prudence would indeed suggest that you start at a lower dose of dex, and work up. That is simply the best way to combine any two substances. Get stable on the first one, and add the second one incrementally, noting how it feels *for you*.
I do not believe you have any concerns with respect to serotonin.
