OXFORD, UNITED KINGDOM. Animal studies have shown that an increase in fat intake can decrease the number of natural killer (NK) cells found in the blood and spleen. NK cells are an integral part of the natural immune response to virus infections and certain types of cancer. Researchers at Oxford University now report that FISH OIL significantly decreases NK cell activity in healthy human subjects.

Now, knowing that depressed/anxious people have in general a "weaker" immune system to begin with, is it not counterproductive to supplement ourselves with Fish Oil? Is it not the trade-off too high?My mood is sensibly better when i take Fish Oil. However i can confirm you that i'm a lot more susceptible to get a cold (or any bacterial infections) during the winter. Moreover my seasonal allergies are far worse with Fish Oil.
Am i on something here? Comments?
