The neurotoxin ciguatoxin, produced by a single species of dinoflagellate (a minute sea creature), can bioaccumulate in predator fish species, and can then be accidentally consumed by people. was misquoted in the reference you gave. Something in the blood of chronic fatigue sufferers bound to the ciguatera poison probe in the original study, but it almost certainly wasn't ciguatoxin. There's only one way to get that into your body, and that's to eat contaminated reef fish. Whatever bound to the toxin probe may be a clue to treating CFS, but they've got a lot more work to do (like identifying the substance) before this will turn into anything useful.
